This medieval town in Sardinia is located in the northwest of the island, it lies on the cliffs above the sea, near the forthress with a superbly preserved city walls. The city was founded in 1102 by family Doria from Genoa. Castles original name was Castel Genovese, then Castel Aragonese, and finally the king of Sardinia gives the castle name Piedmont in 1796. |
