Castelsardo cathedral of Saint AnthonyPicturesque old town of Castelsardo is surrounded by mighty walls, with high rocks that are rising from the sea. The main monument of the town is the Cathedral of St. Anthony, which shows the effects of Aragon architecture. The Cathedral was built in the 13th century. The cathedral is a nice mixture of Renaissance and Gothic elements, it overlooks directly on the sea. Inside of the Cathedral you can see a typical Latin influences with transept and side chapels. The Cathedral has also a tall belltower with a smaller dome that has decorations in a form of majolica. There is also a beautiful presbytery with a nice marble balustrade, the church's biggest attraction is the painting of the 15th century with the title Madonna with Child. In the crypt is displayed painting of St. Michael the Archangel. The Church has an square bell tower in Aragonese style with tiled roof in colors contrast with the sea.
