Where is Brna, Korcula
On the south side of the Korcula island is positioned Brna village . Today Brna is a tourist place with a rich offer of restaurants, bars, sport activities, accommodation and the list goes on. Korcula village Brna lies on the south side of Korcula open to the sun, surrounded with green vegetation and a beautiful bay.
Mali Zaglav is a small peninsula on the west side that is close to Istruga bay and separates Brna from this bay. Several pebble coves surrounded by azure sea and pine woods can be found on the southeast side of Brna.
Wines and dalmatian food in Brna
Local people will host you with typical dalmatian specialties and traditional wines, Brna gives you a special combination of beautiful landscapes, nature and fun.
Known for its therapeutic mud liman there is so called Istruga bay found in the village of Brna. There is an interesting legend about Odysseus who visited village Brna and decided to stay in Brna for couple of days and enjoy its natural beauty. Brna as a tourist resort with plenty touristic offer is now a modern area where there is something for everyone.
Brna bay become very popular in the seventies as a typical tourist destiantion. In the 1971 a hotel Feral was built with many holiday apartments and homes available for renting to the tourists and travellers.
Following the local road toward the west to the bays of Karbuni, Grascica and Prizba to leave Brna, this road will lead you also to two bigger towns of Korcula island Vela Luka and Blato.
To reach these places this path is a lovely way to go there. Everyone can enjoy in the picturesque view all the way along sea the view opens up all the way to Lastovo island and Korcula Channel.
In the past Brna village used to have only couple of small houses and was a non urbanized bay used mostly by native fishermen. Later in the 19th century Brna started to developing into a famous touristic resort, especially during Austro Hungarian Empire.
A pier was built that would connect village of Smokvica to village of Brno so they could export local wines.
