Lumbarda is a small dalmatian village around 6 km away from Korcula town, which consists of some small hamlets along the Korcula coast and vineyards. More then 1.000 people live in the village of Lumbarda.
Generally Lumbarda is known to be a picturesque fishermen's vilalge, it is located on the eastern part of Korcula island. The small bay, fine sandy beaches and lovely vineyards are surrounding Lumbarda. If you want to come to this settlement you can drive along lovely asphalt road enjoying in a view of pine woods, olive groves and Adriatic sea.

There can be found artefacts dating from the 4th century BC from Greeks, they were the first who established these agricultural villages. The artefacts of this village can be seen in main town of Korcula in their City Museum.
Psehism of Lumbarda is one of the most known archaeological artefact. Lumbarda has also very beautiful villas, that were built as summer houses for wealthy people from Korcula. The villas date from the 16th century. The village is also known for its many chapels and churches, most of them from 1774.
Agriculture, fishing and especially wine growing is something that Lumbarda people are most engaged with. Grk and Plavac are one of two most special and traditional varieties of cultivated grapevine. Whenever you will be in Lumbarda you need to try these famous wines. Stone cutting is another thing Lumbarda is known for. Ivo Lozica and Frano Krsinic were two of famouse sculptors were born in Lumbarda. People of Lumbarda are mostly tourism orientated this days.
Another tourist sight is Parish church of Sveti Rok with two aisles stands od old Lumbarda. St. Peter and St. Bartul are two other small, old chapels. Interesting to see is surrounded with vineyards and characteristic porch Holy Cross church from 1774. Native people of Lumbarda are getting more and more in the tourist industry. Lumbarda has severals hotels, private pensions, a small marina, shops, camps and restaurants.
