Tips to spend 8 days in Kocula
Here are some tips and recommendations how to spend couple of days on Korcula island by combining gourment pleasures, cultural heritage and natural beauties of Korcula island.
Day 1 On the first day you can have a simple Coffe in the restaurant in Korcula town. Swim, relax and enjoy in the island of Stupe and then go to visit the little island of Badija have a swim there and then go for early dinner.
Day 2 Visit Pupnatska luka in Pupnat, Racisce and Zrnovo. Then go to Kocje which is Korcula's nature reserve. The best time to visit Kocje is in the morning while the sun is still low. Bring with some mosquito spray. Have a lunch in one of their local village households or a restaurant, have 'zrnovski makaruni' a special homemade pasta. After lunch take a swim in Pupnatska luka one of the picturesque bays in Pupnat
Go on to beach and Prizba to have a lunch
Day 3 Visit an open museum of the old town of Korcula. There are plenty of museums and galleries such as: Marco Polo's house, Town Museum, Saint Mark's Cathedral, Abbey Treasury). Go to sandy beach in Lumbarda enjoy in sunbathing and swimming and then go for a nice dinner.
Day 4 Have a morning coffee in Blato and in one of their Cafes. Visit the church of All Saints and take a brake in the loggia in front of the church, then go to the Ethno house Barilo. Visit the lime alley and go back to Blato centre. Go on the beach of Priscapac, go to Prizba to have a lunch there and continue swimming and sunbathing.
Day 5 Visit the Istruga bay which offers therapeutic mud called liman. You can explore the island and the coast on yourself, just rent a boat in Brna. In Smokvica or Brna you can have a nice lunch. Take a walking or a cycling path to the Pincalusa. You can enjoy the best wines, wineculture, wine growing and meet the tradition of the island and their way of life.
Day 6 On the 6th day you can enjoy the oasis and untouched nature and crystal clear sea of the island of Proizd. Take with you a hat, sun cream, put some fruit and water with you and you are ready for a whole day on this beautiful island. Through the dense pine wood there are many walking paths that are leading to different beaches. Bili Baci beach is one of the most beautiful beaches. There is a small restaurant close to the beach and behind the restaurant there is a field for playing a traditional game 'balote'.
Visit of beaches and islets of Vela Luka
Day 7 Have a coffe or a light breakfast in one of the restaurants in Vela Luka. Take a taxi boat or rent a boat and go to the island of Osjak. Take a walk to Posejdon hotel, behind this hotel there is a nice path that follows the coastline. Visit the Centre for Culture, have a lunch in Vela Luka, visit the Big Cave, walk around Vela Luka and look for interesting mosaiccs. Take a walk and enjoy in sightseeing of treasury, churches and bell tower.
Day 8 The last day, hire a tourist agency that are offering trips and tours and let yourself be guided by them to one of islands around of Korcula.
